Welcome to W. B. Simpson Elementary School. We are a 1-5 school located in the towns of Camden and Wyoming, Delaware. W. B. Simpson's teachers and staff strive to deliver quality education in a safe and secure environment where instructional services and programs meet the needs of all students. The teaching staff is committed to providing a positive learning environment reflecting district and state standards. In addition to high academic standards, we strive to develop qualities that enable students to become responsible citizens in our society.  Students are expected to conduct themselves in a positive manner and show respect for self and others.  Students have opportunities to participate in a variety of extra curricular activities such as student council, chorus, instrumental band, math league, and various academic competitions. W. B. Simpson's Parent Teacher Organization is active throughout the year providing input in school decisions, volunteering for school events, and fund raising for school projects.

Mr. Payne grew up in the mountains of West Virginia.  He is the youngest child and only son of Mick and Carolyn Payne.  He has four older sisters.  A graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor’s of science degree in education he moved to Delaware in the fall of 1999 and began his teaching career in the Caesar Rodney School District at Postlethwait Middle School.  Mr. Payne completed his Master’s degree in School Leadership from Wilmington College and began as W.B. Simpson’s Assistant Principal in July of 2007.  He is married and has two children.
